Once again recent events bring to light how the territory we live in is a dynamic system, continuously remodeled by atmospheric agents, above all by water.
These are very slow phenomena on a large scale, which however become evident on a small scale, due to the enormous damage they can produce.
The human race knows it cannot prevent these phenomena, but it wants to manage, accompany and limit their most serious effects with the study of risk mitigation, which we also deal with at the Politecnico di Milano.
